(Before you read the blog, we want to apologize for not taking any pictures on the last day, so we will use pictures we found online.)
The last day was the calmest day of them all. At a leisurely pace, we had breakfast, packed our suitcases and went off to catch the bus that would take us to the Leeuwarden train station.
What we noticed on the way to Schiphol Airport was that the Netherlands is incredibly flat compared to Belgium. Leeuwarden itself has a couple of meters of elevation, but pretty much everywhere around it is very close to sea level. You could really notice this because there were a lot of endless green fields, like the picture below.
When we arrived at Schiphol Airport, we had to wait a bit for the Eurostar train to Antwerpen-Central, so we had lunch there. When we were done, we were kind of confused because it said, “track 1-2”. At first, we thought it meant track “1-2” but soon after found out it meant the train would arrive at track 1 or 2.
On arrival in Belgium, in Antwerpen-Central, we were lucky enough to have our train to Bruges leave on the upper level and got to see the beautiful train station once again. Personally, no matter how many times I see it, it keeps amazing me.
