Day 4 – Final day at NHL

For the final day at NHL Stenden we were asked once again to gather in the central hall, stopping quickly to get a sandwich and then being ushered into a classroom all together for our cybersafety workshop.

It was hosted by Eric de Bruin & Maarten te Kulve which split us into groups of 6 mixing us up with the Leeuwarden students. We were then tasked with creating some solutions to several prompts that were given to us, and then we all went together and had a group discussion about the effectiveness of our solutions.

Once we all raked our brains for a few hours, we got tasked with trying to form our best impression of the pyramid in the student hall for a group photo. Afterward, we all gathered in the Wannee restaurant for some food, and we regrouped once more for the final time for our online meeting with students in Berlin. We were introduced to them through a projector on the whiteboard streamed from a laptop webcam facing a classroom of students.

We were given the task of finding a recent problem and creating a solution to it. We all split into our break-out rooms, being a mix of Howest and German students. Our group decided to cover a recent wildfire and to come up with possible solutions to reduce its loss. Once the allotted brainstorming time was done, the German students took turns presenting their group’s work.
